The data used in this program comes from the "Cantonese Pronunciation and Word Matching Database" webpage developed by the CUHK Humanities and Computer Science Research Centre. However, it was not developed by CUHK. Please take note.
This program's data is sourced from the *Cantonese Pronunciation and Word Matching Database* (http://humanum.arts.cuhk.edu.hk/Lexis/lexi-can/) webpage developed by the Centre for Computing and Humanities at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. This webpage was originally very convenient and information-rich, compiled with reference to various documents.
Unfortunately, it's somewhat inconvenient to use on mobile devices, so this small program was developed for simple Cantonese pronunciation lookup.
Personally, the *Cantonese Pronunciation and Word Matching Database* is simply a tool for finding the pronunciation of unfamiliar characters, or for leisure and knowledge enhancement; it's not intended to promote a so-called "correct pronunciation" lifestyle.
The *Multifunctional Chinese Character Database* webpage launched by the Centre for Computing and Humanities at the Chinese University of Hong Kong now supports a mobile version, is very user-friendly, and offers a wealth of diverse information. I highly recommend using the web version directly.

1. 增加刪除查詢紀錄、停止紀錄的功能
2. 好像很多人超愛舊版面，所以依舊截圖重建一次看看，但功能和能查詢的字有所限制，Dark Mode 有一點點問題有待解決（其實字的廣度不差很多，而且舊版因資料少真的比較快，能理解對舊版有需求的人）
3. 增加了暫存快取，來回翻找同一資料頁的情況下作業不須再上網抓一次資料（應該不會有人一直用上過千筆搜索罷....）

先感謝用戶 Sam 與 Maxwell 的建議和測試。此版本修正了一些排版的瑕玼，以及重塑了一次底層的架構，以方便日後有需要時加上新功能。
另外參考了一些回饋，希望打開 app 時就直接能輸入，這方面也作出了一個小嘗試。如果很多人還是希望像舊版本那樣不用跳轉到輸入畫面，只在同一個畫面就可以輸入，我可能再思考看看怎樣排版才好。
因為把東西全都打掉重做，版本與版本間的操作畫面一直動來動去的，敬希見諒；也希望參與公測的用戶如有什麼要求或建議，請不吝賜教，我會在有能力的範圍內嘗試看看。

Jun 21, 2026 (v2.0.7) - 移除一些讓部份使用者不方便的配字底色或字色、攔截一些因連線不穩導致閃退的情況，希望可以再減少閃退的情形。
版面整個打掉重來，運用比較新的 API 所以太舊的機型再也不支援了。而且舊版的程式碼我也丟失了，還有用那麼舊的機型的人應該不多... 吧？
新的 API 看來穩定度比較高，配色可能會覺得有點怪怪的請見諒。另外因為我也轉投 iPhone 幾年了，這個程式目前維護是休閑用的，因手上只剩一台 Android 11 的 Sony 機，發生問題時可能不會及時察知。望各使用者海涵，有空的話 Email 告訴我或提出建議也非常歡迎。

OK, you may encounter no result returns after pressing search, it is caused by incorrect server setting of CUHK side after they install a now ZeroSSL certificate. I tried to fix it by a hack but Google automatically analysis it will create vulnerability to the user (which I admit it is true), so let's see when CUHK found out they made mistake.

Try to fix the problem who cannot see the query character on earlier devices:
At least v1.54 now is normal at Samsung Note 2 (Android 4.4) and Nexus 7 (Android 6.0), tested on simulator for Android 5.0 & 5.1

v1.43:,- Use MediaPlayer instead SoundPool to see if Samsung/Sony etc devices can play the sound.,v1.42:,- Try to fix the voice problem by reading the MP3 source from another site. I am not sure this will fix the problem some devices met, as all my devices didn't have any problem on the voice (Nexus 7, LG G3 & Pro2), hope this version can help those Samsung / Sony users
